Absolute Paradise Innisfail-Realty came to be on 21 February, 2005. The business is 'owned and operated' by myself, Lex Roberts. I was born, raised and educated in North Queensland. I have worked in a number of occupations, before finding my niche in Real Estate. I have worked continuously in the Real Estate Industry, since October, 1990.

The Innisfail and surrounding districts really are a piece of 'pure tropical paradise'. The mountains, rainforest, beaches, rivers and reefs are all very accessible and are visited regularly for recreation and enjoyment, by locals and visitors alike. Innisfail is situated and built around the junction of the North and South Johnstone Rivers.

The Johnstone Shire Council is our local government body. We have a population of 20,000 approximately, in the Shire and 10,000 in the immediate town area. The town is capable of supplying almost every product and service required by the local populace. Innisfail is a fast growing regional area with a diversity of ethnic backgrounds to make up a vibrant local community.

Due to our geographical positioning, right in the middle of the 'Super Wet Belt', beautiful, fresh, sparkling clear mountain streams flow on to make clean creeks and rivers. White water rafting is very popular for the challenge as well as the magnificent bush scenery. From the dense mountain rainforest to the lowland flats and finally to the ocean, the winding creeks and rivers, provide a good healthy habitat for the fauna and flora, unique to this tropical paradise.

Innisfail is extremely well placed. Only one hour north to Cairns, for medical specialists, an international airport and a university. Quite a number of international artists, bands and performers include Cairns in their itinerary, and that is always a great evening out, without having to travel too far to return home.

A broad range of sporting activities are available in the district. If you are keen on four wheel driving, athletics, amateur radio, basketball, BMX, bowls, canoeing, cricket, fishing, football, futsal, golf, gun club, gym and fitness, horse and pony clubs, martial arts, dancing, netball, PCYC, pigeon racing, rotorcraft, rowing, soccer, softball, squash, swimming, table tennis, tennis, ten pin bowling, volley ball, water sports or yoga, you will be catered for in this area.

Apex, Coastguard, Inner Wheel, Naval Association, Lions, Lioness, Probus, Red Cross, RSL, Rotary, SCOPE, Soroptimists and Surf Life Savers are 'Service Clubs' that are always active in the area. Most are looking for new members, to grow, raise finances for worthy causes, plan and develop worthwhile projects. and have good fellowship with travel and friendly dinner-meetings, with like minded people.

A number of Progress Associations and Chambers of Commerce are supported by business and non business people in the local district.

With education being a top priority for all families today, no matter where you live, it's not too far to travel to a school. We have a good number of schools, both state and privately run in the district. They cater for early learning, primary and secondary students. We have a number of kindergartens and day care centers.

For your spiritual needs, churches of most denominations are to be found, around and close to the township.

Innisfail has a number of caravan parks, with the majority of them being set in close proximity to the rivers and the sea frontage.

Beaches around here are easily accessed. Bramston Beach, Ella Bay, Flying Fish Point, Etty Bay, Cowley Beach, Kurrimine Beach and Mission Beach are all less than one hour's drive from the town area of Innisfail.

People from all over the world come to see Innisfail's tourist attractions. Paronella Park operated by Mark and Judy Evans at Mena Creek, which is only a twenty minute drive from the Innisfail town-ship, and, the must see, Johnstone River Crocodile Farm are two of the well known and must see places when friends come to visit. Innisfail's hospital, with its dedicated team of doctors, nursing and domestic staff is equipped to take care of, and treat emergencies, and patients who are hospitalized with medical problems. As well as the public doctors, the Innisfail people also have more than a dozen other doctors, in their own private practices, in and around the district to help us maintain our good health. A number of 'Specialist' doctors conduct clinics in Innisfail on a regular basis as well. There are a number of well respected alternative health therapists in the area, who are available. Two retirement homes are already being utilized for some of the older people in the area. A new super retirement home is planned to be built soon. A team of 'Community' nurses do in home care for clients who choose to be independent and live in their own homes.

A variety of restaurants, with different themes, flavors and locations throughout the district, are here to tempt us, and our taste buds.

Innisfail is a fast growing regional area. In the last few years a number of different types of franchise businesses, providing foods and retail products, have moved into the area. A couple of multinationals are establishing themselves here as well. Innisfail is definitely a growing town. Small business, variety and specialty stores service the area, and the people who work at these businesses are always very friendly and helpful.

All transport services are available in Innisfail. Shipping from Mourilyan Harbour, rail freight with Queensland Rail, Road Transport, National Bus Services, local busses, taxis and hire cars are all accessed quite easily from here to get you to your destination, and home again.

During each calendar year, quite a number of 'Cultural Events' occur, and they receive good input and support from the local community. Innisfail Turf Club puts on a few races each year, with the ' Innisfail Cup' being the highlight, 'Feast of the Senses', 'Feast of the Three Saints', 'Innisfail Harvest Festival' and 'Kulture Karnivale' are just a few to name.

King George Park is right in the middle of the town area and has a market day each and every month. . Warrina Lakes is a relatively new park that has a big covered area for warm days and inclement weather. The complex also has a swimming pool, acres of grassland and a small creek. It is a great place to picnic with the family and have a relaxing few hours. We have an 'Olympic' sized pool in town.

Innisfail and, its near neighbors all have their 'Annual Shows' in July. A fantastic place to see local produce, examples of local live-stock, side-show alley and all of the big ring-events. A great place to catch up with friends.

One of the things, most visible in the Innisfail area is the lush green appearance, of the grasses and trees. Rich volcanic and river-flat alluvial type soils contribute to a huge 'Horticultural Industry'. Sugar-cane is by far our best known broad acreage crop. Most of the sugar produced here, is railed and trucked to Mourilyan Harbour for export overseas. Sugar is one of the local crops that actually attracts export dollars. The local sugar mills provide employment for many of the local population. Wangan, five minutes drive from town has a foundry that has work opportunities for people as well.

Most of the different types of tropical fruits are grown in this region. Some of the better known fruits are, paw-paw, bananas, passionfruit, pineapples and mangos. In the last twenty to thirty years, a variety of exotic fruits have been established. It's not uncommon today, to walk into a shop or super-market to find mangosteen, lychee, rambutan, jack-fruit, durian, zapote, abiu, jaboticava and others for sale. All are quite pleasant and refreshing on the taste buds.

In recent times aquaculture has taken off and is expanding at a rapid rate. Aside from the farm grown fish and crustaceans, Innisfail has a fleet of fishing vessels that provide fresh seafood, all the year round.

The 'elusive' barramundi haunts our rivers and estuaries, along with mangrove-jack and other breeds of edible fish. Leave the coast and venture out to sea, to see and experience the magnificence of the 'Great Barrier Reef'. Beautiful for snorkeling, (with the right apparatus and correct clothing), and fishing. Coral trout, red emperor, nannygai, snapper and mackerel are a few of the better known species that are caught here. The really big ones are there, too. The 'Innisfail Game Fishing Club', has an annual tournament. Black marlin and tuna are caught, as well as other game fish. These fishing grounds are arguably the best in Australia. Come and have a look at Innisfail, it has everything going for it with the tropical life-style and the friendly people. Truly a fantastic place. Absolute Paradise at our doorstep.
